    Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about inspections and compliance.

    What is an EEE inspection?+
An EEE (Exterior Elevated Elements) inspection is a visual and sometimes invasive assessment of balconies, decks, walkways, stairways, and other elevated structures attached to a building. It identifies structural deterioration, water damage, and safety hazards in these elements.
Who is required to get an SB-721 inspection?+
SB-721 applies to owners of apartment buildings with 3 or more dwelling units. The law requires inspection of exterior elevated elements (EEEs) that are more than 6 feet above grade and rely on wood or wood-based structural support.
What is AB 802 and who does it apply to?+
AB 802 requires commercial buildings 50,000 SF or larger statewide, and multifamily buildings with 17+ units, to annually benchmark their energy consumption in ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager. The deadline is June 1 each year.
How long does an inspection take?+
A typical inspection takes 1-3 days depending on the size and complexity of the property. Our reports are usually delivered within 5-7 business days of the field visit, with emergency turnaround available.
Do you handle the repairs if issues are found?+
Yes. As a Licensed General Contractor (Class B, CSLB #1140201), we can transition directly from inspection to remediation. This means one team, one point of contact, and no delays waiting for separate bids from other contractors.
